Almost a year ago today, I had the wonderful + distinct honor of DJ'ing a stunning micro-wedding at a yoga retreat center called Kinkara in Costa Rica for blogger Jules Acree + her husband Andrew. This experience was without-a-doubt the most memorable + uplifting trip of my life. Everything from the breathtakingly beautiful venue to the attentive + hospitable staff to the delicious food that was served (everything was farm-to-table) was absolutely sensational + I went home with a skip in my step, feeling reinvented + refilled with life.
I work with seriously talented individuals who co-create together to make a wedding day happen, but this team took the cake. I loved working with such a dream team to bring together such a stunning wedding.
From the minute I had an initial video chat with Jules + Andrew, I immediately vibed with their energy. It's important for me to really connect with the couples I work with, so this was a telltale sign that we would have a lot of fun on the wedding day. The planning process was smooth, and we were able to collaborate on a playlist that worked well for their three-day destination wedding weekend. Jules even introduced me to one of her favorite bands The Head + The Heart, which I now have on repeat on my Spotify.
Throughout the weekend, I provided DJ + Emcee services for Jules + Andrew's wedding rehearsal, slip + slide activity surprise + the wedding day itself. I really enjoyed connecting with their guests + get to know the couple more as the weekend progressed.
At the end of the weekend, I was deeply moved.
Profound doesn't even begin to describe the experience we all had in Costa Rica, and I left feeling rejuvenated + restored. The experience was uniquely transformational. That magical weekend in Costa Rica will always be a part of me.
